    Reflections

    My son (aka: Munchkin) loves to look at his reflection in the full length mirror we have in our bathroom. He can be screaming until he’s red in the face, but once we turn the light on and show him his reflection in the mirror he’s pretty quickly distracted and wondering why his new playmate can’t come out of the bathroom. He’s enamored with his reflection, and as a distraction it works wonders. Since he’s not yet walking we have to be the ones to take him into the bathroom to see the “mirror baby” and distract him.     Knowledge & Grace

    I’ve heard it said that there are two types of knowledge, or smarts: book and streets. I tend to consider myself one of those with the former versus the latter. Being a country girl growing up I didn’t have much opportunity to get “street smart” and I am okay with that. When I was expecting Jackson I read all I could about the development of the baby and the best things to do to stay healthy for myself and the baby. I read a lot of recommended articles and books about baby development and breastfeeding to prepare for our son. I thought I knew as much as possible to handle…
