    Expectations can be deceiving…

    Christmas has again come and gone and we are just a day and a half away from ushering in a new year. I hope everyone who reads this had a Merry Christmas and is looking forward to the new year. I know I am looking forward to what January holds for my family, especially our newest edition. He’s starting to wiggle and get around and I expect he might start crawling soon.     Look Up

    Driving home this morning from dropping the Mister off at work (we still only have one car down here), and I was taking a route home that I’ve taken many times before, but today something was different. I don’t know if it was because the clouds seem lower and darker from a potential storm today, or maybe it’s because I spent an hour outside yesterday taking in the sites and sounds of a local park and was able to calm my heart and commune with God.     Let Go… Let God

    So I’ve heard this phrase a few times before in my life, but recently I saw it while scrolling through my news feed of a popular social networking site that rhymes with Space Look (;-). The picture can be seen¬†here. What grabbed my attention this time was how simply the message was laid out. Let Go, Let God. It could be considered one of the fall back phrases that Christ followers tend to pull out when dealing with a difficult situation or an acquaintance has just poured out all of their grief and anguish about their impending divorce to you when all you asked was “How was your weekend?”.     Wishes

    “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.” — English Proverb When I was younger my friends and I used to ask each other what we’d do if we had three wishes (we could never ask for more wishes though) and our answers would range from world peace or a million dollars to having an all-you-can-eat ice cream sundae bar for dinner. Thinking about that same game now my answers have matured and I’m thankful for that.¬†World peace is something that would be nice to strive for, but too many countries seem to be keen on warfare versus peaceful negotiations with their enemies.
